BETIS Puerto Rico has invited me to celebrate World Vegan Day, and we’ve got a recipe for you!
World Vegan Day is an international celebration of veganism, established on November 1, 1994 by Louise Wallis to commemorate the 50th anniversary of The Vegan Society. Today, we’re celebrating 75 years of recognising how far the vegan movement has come, highlighting how accessible and beneficial a vegan lifestyle and encouraging the non-vegans to adopt veganism. sharing advice, recipes and ideas.
Why it matters
November 1st marks the first day of Vegan Month, a time for sharing advice, recipes ideas, and education. Today, there are so many reasons to choose vegan foods over any meat derived foods. By adopting a vegan lifestyle, you’re not only doing something meaningful for yourself, but you’re also decreasing your carbon footprint, and joining the movement of change for the animals, health & the environment.
Ways to celebrate
- Whip up that vegan recipe that you’ve been dying to make.
- Gather your friends and family for a vegan picnic or dinner.
- Eat at your favorite vegan or vegan-friendly restaurant, and ask your friends to join.
- Invite your friends and family for a vegan movie night. Try Vegucated, What The Health, and Forks Over Knives.
- Commit to taking part in vegan outreach in your local community, like Chilis on Wheels here in Puerto Rico.
- Challenge yourself or friends to take the Vegan 30 Day Pledge.

Pueden ver: Vegucated, What The Health, y Forks Over Knives.
